- Preliminary Exam: 20 July.
- Main Exam: Scheduled for August.

Vacancy Overview
NICL has released more vacancies for Specialist Officers (MBBS, legal, finance, etc.), but we’re focusing on Generalist Officer posts.
- Total vacancies: 70
- General: 68
- OBC: 47
- SC: 26
- ST: 12
- EWS: 17
- Additionally, 4 posts reserved for PWD/B.Ed.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- A minimum of graduation in any discipline (B.Com, BA, MA, etc.).
- 60% marks required (55% for SC/ST).
- If you scored below 60% in graduation but have a postgraduate degree with 60%, you’re still eligible.
- Qualification must be completed by 1 May 2025.
Age Limit (as of 1 May 2025)
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 30 years (born between 2 May 1995 and 1 May 2004)
- Relaxations:
- SC/ST: +5 years
- OBC: +3 years
- PWD: +10 years
- Ex-servicemen: +5 years
- Defense disabled: +3 years
- PSU general insurance experience: +8 years (overall age must not exceed 45)
Nationality
Must be an Indian citizen.
Service Conditions & Probation
- Initial posting: You must serve at the posting location for at least 5 years.
- Probation period: 1 year of training (not a temporary contract).
- Bond agreement: Upon joining, you must commit to stay for 4 years, or repay one year’s gross salary if you leave early.
Salary & Benefits
- Starting basic pay: ₹50,000/month
- In metro cities, total emoluments can reach approximately ₹90,000/month

Exam Pattern & Selection Process
1. Preliminary Exam (Phase 1)
- Subjects: English (30 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (35 marks), Reasoning (35 marks)
- Time limit: 20 minutes per section
- Candidates shortlisted: 15 times the number of vacancies
2. Main Exam (Phase 2)
- Objective section (250 marks):
- Reasoning: 50 marks, 40 minutes
- English: 50 marks, 40 minutes
- General Awareness: 50 marks, 30 minutes
- Computer Knowledge: 50 marks, 30 minutes
- Quantitative Aptitude: 50 marks, 40 minutes
- Descriptive section (30 marks):
- Essay (10), Précis (10), Reading Comprehension (10) — qualifying only
- 30-minute time limit, to be typed
– Negative marking: 0.25 penalty per wrong answer (only in objective parts)
– Descriptive section: no negative marking
3. Interview
Shortlisted candidates from Phase 2 (prelims + mains + qualifying descriptive) will be called for interview at assigned centres.
